Recycling: Processing PolyEthylene Terephthalate Bottles in Honduras

Meckesheim, Germany-based Herbold Meckesheim GmbH says it has worked with recycling company INVEMA to commission a plant for the recycling of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles in Honduras.

German equipment maker works with Honduras-based INVEMA on PET bottle recycling line.

 
The plant, which began operating at the end of 2016, has been designed to produce bottle-to-bottle-quality flakes to meet United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) food-contact standards. In its current stage, the plant is processing 2,000 tonnes per month, says Herbold Meckesheim, although the plant has been designed to allow for expansion.
